Hurd Rises Above Replacement Window Category with TranscendTM Wood Replacement Window Line
Full product offering for any replacement application fills market void.
Medford, WI – January 19, 2010 – Hurd Windows and Doors introduces a new line of replacement windows, aptly named TranscendTM, as it is designed to rise above all other window replacement options on the market today. The Transcend™ Wood Replacement Window and Patio Door product line offers homeowners a high quality, economical alternative to vinyl and other window replacement options.
According to Hurd Channel Manager Dave Porter, the current economy was a catalyst, of sorts, for the new line. “Even when homeowners know they can save energy and money by replacing leaky windows or patio doors, the price of replacement can often be a deterrent. With Transcend Wood Replacement Windows and Patio Doors, we are filling a void in the market, where homeowners have options to pay comparable to what they might pay for vinyl, while keeping the wood look they love.”
Better energy efficiency, improved operation, lower maintenance, tax rebate incentives and improved appearance are just some of the reasons why people should replace older windows and patio doors. Two products within the Transcend™ line – sash kits and the H3™ pocket window – also have the added benefit of being less disruptive to existing walls because the existing frame and trim can be left in place. Sash replacement -- if the existing frame of a wood double hung window can be preserved – is the simplest, least intrusive and least expensive with no disruption of walls.
H3™ pocket window – again if the frame can be preserved – allows conversion from a double hung to a more energy efficient casement window. The complete new window is sized to fit inside the frame of the old window and can be made to have the look of a double hung. It’s simple, clean, fast and competitively priced with vinyl.
Full window replacement -- with standard size products (H3 or standard Hurd) -- for rough openings less than 3-1/4" larger than the window. Hurd clad aluminum trim extenders allow a fully trimmed, clad finish to the installation. More cost effective than custom-sized windows.
Full window replacement -- with custom-sized products (standard Hurd only) -- when the opening can't be fit with a standard product or when a precise window fit without trim extenders is desired.
Replacement retrofit patio doors - sized for the more common older, smaller aluminum sliding patio doors. They offer an easy fit to smaller rough openings.
