Hurd’s CoreGuardTM Wood Windows Endure, Even in the Hawaiian Rainforest

Hurd’s key differentiator is, unlike other wooden window treatments, CoreGuard actually penetrates through the entire cross section of wood, all the way to its very core. CoreGuard contains three active fungicides, an insecticide, plus water repellents to provide envelope protection against pests and rotting. Only CoreGuard has a final, proprietary ingredient that goes completely through the wood for the ultimate in protection.

Tested in the wilds of a Hawaiian rainforest, the efficacy of CoreGuard was truly put to the test. To push the limits of potential water damage, an independent testing organization took sections of CoreGuard-treated windows, broke the finish seal over the joints, then tilted them to trap rain. After constant exposure to downpours and tropical sun – already the equivalent of 12 years installed on a home in the continental U.S. – the elements continue to prove to be no match for CoreGuard-treated wood.
